Joelle Emerson is the Founder and CEO of Paradigm, a diversity and inclusion strategy firm that partners with leading technology startups and Fortune 500 companies to build stronger, more inclusive organizations. Founded in 2014, Paradigm has partnered with companies like Lyft, Pinterest, Slack, and Visa to design and implement effective diversity and inclusion strategies. Paradigm’s approach is data-driven and evidence-based: by using data to identify barriers to inclusion and designing solutions grounded in research, Paradigm helps its clients drive measurable change. Before founding Paradigm, Joelle was a women's rights lawyer, where she represented clients in gender discrimination litigation and advocated for local, state, and federal policies to ensure equal pay for women. She is a graduate of Stanford Law School.
Wanda Bryant Hope is an accomplished business executive with significant experience in general management, marketing, sales, commercial operations, and human resources. Wanda is currently the Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer for Johnson & Johnson worldwide. In this role Wanda is responsible for globally advancing J&J’s diversity and inclusion (D&I) outcomes, strengthening D&I capabilities, improving reputation, and driving innovation and growth for future success. Wanda has held a variety of leadership positions across Johnson & Johnson including Vice President, Sales & Marketing; Vice President, Commercial Analytics, Development & Operations; and Vice President, Global Performance & Development. Wanda has been recognized for her ability to exceed business results, deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges, lead global change, develop people for optimal results and drive diversity & inclusion global outcomes. Wanda has received several awards including the Penn State Smeal Diversity Award, Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association’s Rising Star Award, Auburn Lives of Commitment Award, YWCA Tribute to Women in Industry Award, and the National Sales Network Community Service Award. Wanda is committed to giving back to her community and serves on the Penn State Smeal College of Business Board of Visitors, the State Theater New Jersey Board of Trustees, and the Board of the National Sales Network. Wanda received her Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from The Pennsylvania State University. Wanda and her husband Bobby are the proud parents of Tyler, their 12- year-old son.
Chieh Huang is the Co-founder and CEO of Boxed, a company that is disrupting the wholesale shopping club experience by enabling you to shop for bulk-sized items online or via mobile app and have them delivered directly to your door. Founded by Huang and three others in 2013, Forbes Magazine recently named Boxed one of the next “billion dollar startups.” The company currently delivers anywhere in the Continental United States, offers free two-day shipping on most orders, has raised $180 million in funding, and is known for its incredibly generous employee perks. In 2015, Huang, the son of Taiwanese immigrants, announced he would be personally paying for the college tuition of all of his employees' children. Prior to founding Boxed, Huang served as the CEO of Astro Ape, one of the first mobile social gaming studios. Upon leading Astro Ape to acquisition by Zynga, Huang stayed on as Director of Zynga Mobile NY, leading the fastest and most efficient game team at the company. Huang's personal honors include being named to Goldman Sachs’ list of 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs (2016) and to National Retail Federation’s list of People Shaping Retails Future (2017). In addition, under Huang’s guidance, Boxed was named Emerging E-retailer of the Year by Internet Retailer in 2016. A passionate advocate for education, Huang has been invited to participate in various meetings at The White House where he discussed ways Boxed and the private sector at large can help solve the student debt crisis. Huang is also a sought-after voice on the future of eCommerce. Huang is a 2003 graduate of The Johns Hopkins University and received his JD from Fordham University in 2007. He currently sits on the boards of Johns Hopkins’ Second Decade Society, and the Leaders Forum, an organization dedicated to developing pathways for Asian American Pacific Islanders to move from private sector leadership to public service.
Ellen is the President & CEO of Carbon. Prior to joining Carbon, Ellen was Chairman and CEO of DuPont. She was the nineteenth executive, and the first woman to lead the company in its 212-year history. As a business leader, Ellen led double-digit growth of the company’s Safety and Protection business portfolio, started two successful high-growth businesses known today as DuPont Industrial Biosciences and DuPont Sustainable Solutions. During her seven years as CEO, Ellen led the company’s focus on growth in emerging international markets and championed the power of DuPont science and global market knowledge to transform industries. She decisively positioned the company for its next generation of growth, executing a strong plan that is delivering results today while positioning DuPont for future growth.
Ellen is co-chair of the Paradigm for Parity coalition and a board director of United Technologies, Dell Technologies, Amgen, and Goldman Sachs. She is a member of the National Academy of Engineering and past president of the U.S. China Business Council. She serves on the board of trustees of Northwestern University. Ellen has been named as one of the “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” by Fortune and one of the “World’s Most Powerful Women” by Forbes. Ellen holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Tufts University and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management of Northwestern University.
